2027 Coachmen Northern Spirit 1943RB

The 2027 Coachmen Northern Spirit 1943RB is one of those smaller couples' trailers that feels much bigger once you step inside. What we really like about this floorplan is the combination of dedicated recliners, a spread-axle design, impressive ceiling height, front bedroom, and a full rear bathroom — all in a trailer that's only 24 feet long.

At 24' 0" long and 4,926 lbs. unloaded, the 1943RB hits a nice middle ground for couples who don't want a huge trailer but also don't want to give up the comfort and interior space you get from a larger coach. The slide-out opens up the main living area, while the taller profile gives the interior a noticeably more open feeling.

Dedicated Recliners

One of our favourite things about the 1943RB is the dedicated recliner setup. A lot of smaller couples' trailers rely on a traditional dinette for both eating and relaxing, but the 1943RB gives you proper seating that's much more comfortable when you're spending an evening inside.

For two people, we'd rather have a comfortable place to sit and relax than a large dinette that may rarely get used. It makes the 1943RB feel much more like a true couples' trailer.

Spread-Axle Design

Another feature we really like is the spread-axle setup. The wider spacing between the axles gives the 1943RB a substantial stance underneath the trailer and is something you don't always see when you move into a more compact floorplan.

Combined with its manageable 24-foot overall length, it's a setup that gives the 1943RB the proportions of a larger travel trailer without requiring you to tow a 30+ foot coach.

Impressive Ceiling Height

At 11' 1" exterior height, the 1943RB has a noticeably taller profile than many lightweight trailers in this size range.

That additional height contributes to the open feeling inside. When you combine the taller interior with the slide-out, the 1943RB doesn't have the cramped feeling you might expect from a trailer that's only 24 feet long.

Full Rear Bathroom

The rear bathroom keeps the bathroom completely separate from the bedroom and living area.

It's a practical layout for two people and allows the centre of the trailer to remain focused on living space rather than squeezing the bathroom into the middle of the floorplan.

A Lot of Trailer in 24 Feet

The dimensions are really what make the 1943RB interesting. At 24 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 4,926 lbs. unloaded, you're getting a relatively compact trailer with a slide-out, private bedroom, dedicated recliners, and full rear bathroom.

It gives couples many of the things they would normally start looking at larger trailers to get, without automatically moving into something approaching 30 feet.

Built for Couples

The 1943RB isn't trying to maximize sleeping capacity. Instead, the floorplan uses its available space to make the trailer more comfortable for two people.

The recliners give you a proper place to relax, the slide creates additional floor space, the front bedroom gives you privacy, and the rear bathroom keeps the layout nicely divided into separate areas.

Why We Like the 1943RB at Ruston RV

What makes the 1943RB stand out to us is how substantial it feels for a 24-foot trailer. The spread axles, dedicated recliners, tall ceiling, slide-out, private bedroom, and rear bathroom give it the feel of a considerably larger couples' trailer.

If you want something compact enough to remain manageable but don't want the lower ceilings, basic seating, or tighter interior that often comes with downsizing, the 1943RB is definitely worth seeing in person.
